Shame
I just got off the phone with a relative in Israel... These are my first thoughts of the situation now occuring...
I shame for you
My city
For a pride that's been misplaced
I shame for you
My love
For a name that's been disgraced
I shame for you
My city
For a people so confused
I shame for you
My love
For requests that were refused
I shame for you
My city
For a fight that can not end
I shame for you
My love
For the violence they send
I shame for you
My city
For the fires in the souls
I shame for you
My love
For misdirected goals
I shame for you
My city
For an act that's been misused
I shame for you
My love
For a love that's been abused

Beautiful post. The saddest thing is that if we all truely yearned with full hearts that were brimming over with unshed tears then Hashem would send us the Geula. There is a beautiful song in hebrew about standing at the kosel only i've no clue how to upload it - anyone who can help?
ask nuch - he's the hebrew posting expert...
Beautiful..and sad..
It sounds like it should be a Tisha B'av Kina..
The truth is whats going on now in Yerushalayim..sounds almost biblical in its perverse nature. I just hope that Hshem gets a clear message from those opposed..that we are against this with all our heart and soul
Sad yet beautifully expressed.
david - yes, it's really sad.
i can break down and cry just thinking about it.
swfm - thank you.
I just heard about it myself...
Very distressed. Very, very, distressed...
Sigh...
jewmaican - the messages i've been getting are that the police response is even harsher than last time...
terrible...
Hashem yishmor. This poem - and what it's about - breaks my heart... :(
really beautiful and profound.
scraps - breaks mine, too.
exsemgirl - thank you.
I posted a whole comment, but I dont know where it went - did it show up at all?
nopes, allie.
didn't show up...
ah, the joys of blogger!
Great! My first comment on your blog... not a good sign..
Anyway, I wrote up this long comment at work today - yes I was obviously very busy... I'll try to see if I can remember it all.
Basically, I was agreeing with David that this whole thing is so corrupt, it reminds me of biblical times - as in the time of Mabul. The world was so corrupt that it actually affected the animals - as in today's generation, if you keep up with some weird news stories. And the only thing that could cleanse the world was a huge flood that destroyed almost everyone and everything. It's a scary thought...
allie - you must have a very interesting job... lol...
yeah, it is crazy... i was reading an article recently on the goings on in the animal world... perverse is not the word...
david - i'm gonna absolutely kill you...
grr...
hey my name was mentioned here, u woke me up from my sleep
Beautiful post!!!!
you really write great!
are you hinting at the pride parade Uberkerenish?
nuch - yeah, that's exactly what i was referring to...
:(
Hold it -- why are we killing David? Did I miss something?
basmelech - guess you didn't notice my dot usage...
Yup..I'm the source of all evil....
david - not ALL evil...
