Freezing Rain

There's a pitter patter
On my window.
Rain.
Frozen drops.

All it takes
Is a little coolness
And the small object
That once brought growth
Is now the bearer
Of destruction.

Rain
Drenches me
And penetrates.

Ice pellets
Break me.

Warm up a bit,
Will you?

Editor's note: This poem is meant to be taken literally and on a deeper level, as an analogy towards relationships with others.

I randomly came across your blog and just thought I'd say "Hi." I love the picture! Great poem, too.

Wow. Pretty good for a "Bais Yaakov girl" I can use a Pina Colada right about now....;-)

Very deep.
Did anyone notice how that flower in the picture looks like a diamond?

LV - for a bais yaakov girl? How about good compared to anyone?
(good thing my ego's still intact!)

I can use a hot cocoa, actually.
Or maybe some peppermint tea.

I don't really like pina coladas...
:P

prag - interesting. I didn't notice that. more like a diamond in the rough, shall we say.

lvnsm27 - thanks. I think it's the octagonal/circle stuff floating around that gives it that look.

sw/fm - thanks.

Read your last comment and was about to ask why i didn't get a thank-you... then I noticed my post isn't here. Wonder where it went...

I love a well-fitted analogy. Thanks, Dreamer.

knaidel - I'm too nice to forget a thank you.

It probably got caught in the rain and decided not to show.
:P

New York is thawing.
Sharp icicles vanish.
Rivulets of life-giving water
lift away the filth.
Now that I no longer
have to watch my step
so carefully
I am free to look above:
A bright sun beams.

Dreamer- Glad your ego is still intact! Peppermint tea?!

knaidel - nice.
my area's still white and icy.
though my car was almost able to make it out tonite.
:)

LV - yes, peppermint tea. You got a problem with that? Did you ever even TASTE peppermint tea? Awesome when you've got a cold of the sort I had last week. Sort of warms you up and cools you off at the same time.
