You're In Control

I'm not in control, G-d
I've never held the reigns
You're the One who leads my life
Through losses and through gains

And when I sometimes try to shove You
Out of sight and out of mind
You just keep on reminding me
And place me in a bind

Till I'm forced to remember
On Whom I do depend
It's You who's always been there for me
And been my greatest friend

And though right now I may feel down
Lost all self confidence
You're stretching way out for me
I can see Your providence

And as I cry myself to sleep
For just another night
As I try to predict the unknown
And fill myself with fright

I feel You helping me along
Telling me to move ahead
To take the next step forward
To not give up and stay in bed

But to give the wheel up to You
And stop pressing on the brakes
To let my life move forward
Despite a myriad of mistakes.

Shlomo - Yeah, I've got a lot of stuff going on in my life right now. But writing kinda puts it into perspective for me.

beuuuty of a message through a poem, I see why you could express an idea so concise and perfect. Did you right it? If yes maby you should publish them, but on the other hand we the readers will miss out, so thanks alot and continue on.
I heard a quote from Winston Churchill, "Succes is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that matters"
So please continue....

Beautifully put into words.

Thinking and knowing that Hashem is in control not ourselves, helps us get through all obstacles and hardships we pass in life.

Perfectly put. But why oh why can't I let go of the wheel?

AP - thanks. :)

HOF - Thanks. yup, I wrote it... Maybe I'll publish them one day... we'll see...

Nuch - it's only that we sometimes act like the kid in the back seat with the toy steering wheel who thinks he's driving the car...

b4s - thanks. cuz you think you're in control. you think the wheel you're turning is real, when in fact, it's just a toy... something to give you a thought of control while the One Above does the real driving...

I've had those moments too. But I've see so clearly how Hashem holds my hand when I'm going through rough times that I take to challenges better than I did 3 years ago. The same G-d that gives us Nisyonos, gives us the strenght to overcome and stay strong. Be well.

It can be so hard to give up that illusion of control...

I've definitely been feeling this lately.

Something in the water?

Sometimes I feel one subconciously tries to control everything to do with us and that goes on around us because deep down we know the we don't hold that ultimate control...the control over our destiny, and that can be hard.
