A Brilliant Idea

You come to me.
Ask me for help
in cleaning up the mess
you've made.

You come to me
And wonder what
I can do
to change the situation.

You come to me
And marvel
at your brilliant idea.

Sure.

Befriend her.
Change her.
Fix her.
Let her see that what you're doing
is right.

Forget that what I did
is wrong.

It's not hypocritical.
It's life.
Live with it.

It's life...but it doesn't mean it's not annoying and frustrating.

Scraps, as my mother would reply to me as a child when I complained that whatever rule she'd made wasn't fair: "Life's not fair!"
I second your thought...

Omg, my mother used to say the exact same thing to me! I hated it, even though I knew she was right. (And sometimes I thought, "Well, even if life's not fair, why can't you be fair?!")

Scraps -- no one here said it wasn't.

Jewmaican -- my mom did the same and I still don't like it as a line. It may be true but it doesn't address the issue at hand.

Dreamer -- That was a little hard to follow, but I think I got it. Care to elaborate?

chaya - auspicious time? waddaya mean?

jewmaican - explanation follows below in reply to basmelech...

scraps - i know. that's why i wrote what i did.

jewmaican - i heard soemthing form someone else that i adapted - life is VERY fair. it's not EQUAL...

basmelech - someone came up with the "brilliant" idea of asking me for help with a teen when they themselves were unwilling to change. and they wanted me to "fix her" within the week. like magic!

umm... excuse me,but i didn't realize that i made anybody else's choices for them.

and i don't "fix" people.

maybe work on your own attitude first, and realize how your words may be affecting others...

(i very politely declined and handed over the job to someone else)

Glad you didn't take the job, no one can "fix" anyone.
